Headed by Simon Booth, Managing Director, the team - which goes under the name of Titantic II will be taking part in three races.

They hope to at least match last year's total when £500 was raised for Julia's House by the 'AquaCare Angels.'

Dawn Witt, Marketing Manager, said: "It's always great fun taking part although it can be a bit on the wet side. We're all up for the challenge, though."

A total of 25 teams are due to take part in the event which is staged on Bank Holiday Monday, May 31. Together with a drummer, the 16 paddlers will race Chinese-style dragon boats across a 250 metre court on Sherborne Castle's lake. The event is expected to raise thousands of pounds for nominated charities.

Julia's House is AquaCare's adopted charity. The company, which is owned by Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water, also provides emergency plumbing, heating, drains and water hygiene services to the Corfe Mullen hospice and has helped with plumbing work at shops run by the charity.

Julia's House is Dorset's only children's hospice, providing vital care to children across the county with life-limiting illnesses. Currently around 100 children benefit from care and activities provided by the charity's 70 skilled nurses and carers, both at home and in the Corfe Mullen based hospice.
