AquaCare Water Hygiene Services awarded council contract

AquaCare Water Hygiene Services has won a contract worth more than £300,000 with Wokingham Borough Council

The Christchurch-based company is to provide water hygiene services to the local authority until 2012 with an option for a further three years.

The contract covers more than 100 properties in the council’s area including schools, libraries, sports facilities and community centres.

AquaCare Water Hygiene Services will undertake a range of work including risk assessments, maintenance, shower head cleaning and remedial works.

Jeff Tanner, General Manager, said the deal, which was competitively tendered, could lead to at least one new member of staff being taken on.

He added: “We’re delighted to have secured this contract which further enhances our reputation as one of the leading players in the water hygiene sector.”

Founded in 2005, AquaCare Water Hygiene Services now employs 11 staff, including eight hygiene technicians, with an annual turnover in excess of £750,000.

Clients include Bournemouth University, Bournemouth Borough Council, East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, Western Challenge Housing Association and Fitness First
