A BUSINESSMAN who built his plumbing firm up from scratch to a £14 million annual turnover has joined fast expanding AquaCare as Business Development Consultant.
Graham Bell, together with business partner Mike Bennett, established Poole-based G and B Plumbing in 1996.
The company, which began with three staff, was sold seven years later to Jewsons and associated company Grahams for an undisclosed sum.
At the time of the sale G and B Plumbing had grown to five branches, including Wimborne, Winton and Christchurch, with 45 staff and a £14m annual turnover.
Mr Bell, who continued running the business until last year, will now head AquaCare's drive to sign up more building developers for its plumbing, heating, drainage and bathroom installation services.
Simon Booth, AquaCare's Managing Director, described Mr Bell as a "great catch."
He added: "Graham is a great asset to the business and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience which will greatly enhance the planned growth programmes within AquaCare"
AquaCare, which is based in Christchurch, is the property maintenance arm of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water (BWHW).
In February, the company doubled in size after BWHW acquired gas installation and maintenance firm Pre-Heat Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
Together the enlarged business, which continues to trade under separate names, has an annual turnover in excess of £9 million and employs 120 staff. The majority are directly employed gas engineers and plumbers.
