25 January 2007

MAJOR expansion plans, including the creation of 11 new jobs, have been unveiled by Christchurch-based AquaCare.

The property maintenance services division of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water is to recruit nine new heating engineers, plumbers and bathroom installers.

It is also taking on two new apprentice engineers in a move which will see the total number of staff employed by AquaCare increase to 71.

The company, which specialises in plumbing, heating, drainage, bathroom installation and water hygiene services, has also revealed plans to boost annual sales by a third, from £3.3 million to £4.4 million.

It also proposes to increase by 3,000 the number of domestic customers signed up for AquaCare's home emergency cover plans to 14,000 households.

Simon Booth, AquaCare's Managing Director, said: "This business has huge potential and a very exciting future.

"We believe there is a major opportunity to provide a high quality, locally-based, fast and reliable service for domestic customers based on a clear and simple charging structure."

Mr Booth, 37, who joined AquaCare as its first MD in June 2006, said the 'Go for Growth' strategy had received the full support of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water's board of directors.

"The assistance I have received has been tremendous. The board recognise the potential for this business," he added.

Founded in 1998, AquaCare covers Hampshire and Dorset using its own team of qualified plumbers and engineers.
